The MHGS Alumni Association council
The MHGS Alumni Council is a group of seven men and women who have all completed their course work at MHGS. Each graduate is currently involved in pastoral or counseling related work. Therefore, they understand the process of starting a private practice, making connections in the helping profession, or experiencing barren periods where vocation/calling issues are foggy and job opportunities seem sparse. Proficiency is another core desire for the alumni association. Meaning, are alumni getting ongoing education
and is it the quality they desire? Therefore, a future hope/desire of the association is to invite other professionals to teach areas where there is a weakness in what is already offered in the greater community, in order to provide graduates with quality, ongoing learning experiences.

Activities
Last to invite MHGS grads back (some of them visiting the new building for the first time). The events serve to foster continued connection between one other and the ongoing efforts of the school. 2007 also included several seminar-style events where alumni offered their skills/knowledge to MHGS grads. Shannon Price ('03 MACP) facilitated a time around the DISC profile, a measurement tool that helps decipher giftings/tendencies when working with others. Susan Hall ('00 MAC) offered “How to Start a Private Practice” seminar to disseminate her wisdom of starting and running a counseling practice.
The alumni association has also brought in multiple professionals from around the Seattle area (pastoral and counseling) to answer questions posed by MHGS grads, using a panel-style discussion setting.
All of these events represent possibilities for the future as the association looks towards what graduates need and request. Please be in contact with Hillary Augustine Vandenbos to shape future events.

As part of the MHGS Alumni Association, you can expect:
-- 3-4 E-Newsletters per year, informing you of Alumni events, upcoming points of interest, happenings at MHGS, and other opportunities for alumni.
-- An invitation to join the exclusive MHGS Alumni InCircle, an online networking tool that enables you to stay connected and hear about opportunities (i.e. job, housing, CEU, etc.).
-- Support -- we are here to assist you in your life after MHGS. Ask your questions, give your answers. There are alumni all over the world, and we'd love to find ways to better support you. Email alumni@mhgs.edu for more information.
-- One free Enrichment class per year! As MHGS Alumni, we want to say "thank you" by offering you a free enrichment class. Download your voucher here, and turn it in along with your Enrichment Application to the Academics office.
