Christie Lynk, M.A.

The essence of being human is that we are in the end prepared to be broken up by life - which is the inevitable process of fastening our love upon other human beings.
- George Orwell

Bio
In 1997 Christie Lynk participated in the birth of Mars Hill Graduate School with seven other men and women. She currently teaches in the MACP program as Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology. Responding to her burden and passion for global justice and mercy, she functions as the faculty liaison for the student led Global and Social Advocacy group. She maintains a private practice in Seattle, and works as adjunct faculty at Seattle University.

Christie graduated from Seattle University with an MA in Existential, Phenomenological, Therapeutic Psychology where her research thesis focused on Ethics: Seeing the Face of the Other. Her studies have taken her through the worlds of psychology, relational psychoanalysis, theology, philosophy and poetry. Her current writing and speaking centers on rest, the wonder and sacredness of the other, and moments of mercy in our lives.

And in the vein of the every day and ordinary part of life, Christie’s favorite color is purple and her two favorite people are her daughters, Vi and Amanda. Time spent sitting on the shore of Lake Washington watching the clouds, reading poetry and enjoying the “art of doing nothing” constitutes the “practice of sacred spaces” in her life.
