"'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
'I don't much care where –' said Alice.
'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.
'–so long as I get somewhere,' Alice added as an explanation."

The human heart was made to delight: delight in God, delight in creation, and delight in the gift of life with one another.  While these are the gifts, we are often wedged deep in the mire of our day-to-day lives.   Join us for a weekend at a beautiful retreat center in Chapel Hill where we will rediscover the true meaning of Sabbath.  We invite you to rest and delight with us because God offers immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine....

This unique experience will invite you to a combination of teaching time with Dan Allender, PhD, a unique small group experience with trained Mars Hill Graduate School counselors and optional one-on-one or couple times with your group leader.  This will all occur as we dine on exquisite food, sleep in lovely accommodations and explore together God's intention for how we rest and play.

Sabbath content:

This weekend workshop, based on Dan Allender’s book, Sabbath, expels the myriad myths about the “day of rest” and asks us to see God’s intention for the Sabbath with new eyes.

The weekend will build a case for delight by looking at this day as a festival that celebrates God’s re-creative, redemptive love using four components: sensual glory and beauty, ritual, communal feasting, and playfulness.

This workshop will engage your own story and invite you to a new idea of the Sabbath and a new experience of delight.
