Safety
It is our desire to maintain a safe environment for everyone at MHGS. As such, the following are security precautions of which all students, staff and faculty should be aware.
Campus Security/Crime Awareness
Students should immediately report any crime occurring on the MHGS campus to the CFO. Federal regulations require that all institutions with Title IV student financial aid authorization must comply with the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 involving the collecting and reporting of statistics on the number of specific crimes which have occurred on campus and the number of arrests on campus for liquor law violations, drug abuse violations, and weapons possessions. Specific crimes that must be reported include murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, and motor vehicle theft.
Fire
1. Pull the nearest fire alarm to alert other persons to exit the building.
2. At any campus phone dial 911. Give specific information as to the nature of the fire and its specific location. The campus address is 2501 Elliott Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121, and the phone number is (206) 876-6100.
3. Contact front desk staff or Facilities Manager to locate nearest fire extinguisher and follow directions on the extinguisher. The three basic ways to put out a fire are (1) take away its fuel, (2) take away its air (smother it), and (3) cool it with water or fire extinguishing chemicals. Never use water on an electrical fire; rather use only fire extinguishing chemicals.
Health
If a situation is obviously life-threatening, such as heart attack, choking, or severe injury:
1. At any campus phone dial 911. Give specific information as to the nature of the problem and the specific location of the injured person. The campus address is 2501 Elliott Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121, and the phone number is (206) 876-6100.
2. First-aid kits are located at the front desk, student lounge, and library.
If a situation is not life-threatening:
1. Contact the Front Desk or Facilities Manager.
2. First-aid kits are located at the front desk, student lounge, and library.
Person Exhibiting Threatening Behavior
If a stranger is menacing, threatening, out of control, displaying a weapon, etc.:
1. From any campus phone dial 911. Give specific information to the police as to the nature of situation and its specific location. The campus address is 2501 Elliott Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121, and the phone number is (206) 876-6100.

3. Do not attempt to resolve the situation alone.
