Interviews

In addition to the 2 Experience MHGS Weekends that include interviews, we also offer 2 additional interview dates (usually around February and June). If you are interested in applying to interview on one of these dates, the deadlines for your application materials can be found on the application.

Interview Breakdown

Part I: Written Interview - Through pieces of literature, relational emails and theological questions, we are looking for your authentic response and interaction through hand-written essays (be prepared to have a sore hand!)

Part II: Group Interview - During this part of the interview you will be in a group of 5-7 other interviewees and 2 faculty (one faculty from theology and one from psychology). During this process we are asking you to relate to one another

Part III: Debrief - In the final portion, the interview group will debrief the process together.

For the Interview

If you plan to interview, you must:

  1. Have your application materials complete and submitted by the deadline prior to the interview.
  2. Let us know that you plan to interview so that we can reserve you an interview time. (if you are registering to the Experience MHGS Weekend, indicate your desire for an interview on that registration form. Otherwise, please let us know you are coming to the Interview Day)
  3. Come and enjoy the interview process
Common Questions
  1. What should I wear? Wear whatever is most you.  If you usually wear a suit and would like to wear a suit...feel welcome. If you usually wear jeans and a t-shirt and would feel comfortable interviewing in jeans and t-shirt...you can wear that too.
  2. I’m bringing a friend/spouse, can they come too? They can come and hang out in the building but they cannot be part of the interview process.
  3. What should I bring? Something to write with and something to ice your hand with after you write for an hour. (Can you remember the last time you used a pen for an hour straight?)
